Baldwin Creek Dam Removal



This project aims to improve quality, habitat, and hydrology of a portion of Baldwin Creek just upstream of Coe Lake in Berea. Work will include the removal of a low head dam and select distressed structures along the ~510 linear foot stream corridor, as well as a number of restoration efforts to achieve the following goals: 

  1. Restore near normal hydrology and sediment transport in Baldwin Creek
  2. Improve fish passage and re-colonization of macroinvertebrates upstream of the existing dam
  3. Restore ecosystem function in the floodplain and adjacent habitats
